Architectural Model of Moscow

The Architectural model of Moscow is a unique exhibit for Muscovites and visitors to the capital. The city centre covers 369 square metres at a scale of 1:400 and includes 19,843 buildings inside the Garden Ring and partly beyond. The fragment of the model currently has the following boundaries: the Three Station Square in the north-east, the Hammer and Sickle Factory in the east, the Palace of Youth in the south-west, and Belorussky Railway Station in the west. The Model of Moscow Pavilion is located on Lilac Alley in VDNH.

Visitors can view the city's entire historical centre: The Moscow Kremlin and Red Square (Alexander Garden, St. Basil's Cathedral, Historical Museum and GUM), as well as the Cathedral of Christ the Savior and the House on the Embankment. The model's main distinguishing feature is the striking detail of the buildings and the very accurate reconstruction of the landscape.

The model's elements are fitted with LED lights and are connected into a single smart lighting system. You can set different times of day on the model and highlight related objects, such as the Garden and Boulevard Rings, unique parks and embankments, educational institutions, sports facilities, etc. The miniature architectural illumination used for the metro station exits, temple complexes, bridges and iconic structures such as the Moscow Kremlin, makes the model even more expressive.

Exhibition tours can be ordered through the website or by calling one of the phone numbers listed below.

New lighting shows with special sound and light effects take place every hour from 12 p.m to 6 p.m. in the Model of Moscow Pavilion. In three minutes, you can have a bird's eye view of the life of your favourite city. There will be other new special lighting shows in the near future: Moscow: Seasons, Great Architects of Moscow, History of Moscow on the Model, Victory Day in Moscow.
